WORLD YOUTH DAY RIO 2013 THE NEW VIDEO & WHO SHOULD PAY FOR PILGRIMAGE ATTENDANCE?

WORLD YOUTH DAY RIO 2013, THE NEW VIDEO, AND TIME FOR THE PEWS TO PAY MORE FOR WYD PILGRIMAGE ATTENDANCE.

MAYBE IT IS TIME TO INVESTIGATE THE PSUEDO-CATHOLIC ORGANISATIONS WHERE OUR DONATIONS ARE ALREADY GOING?

AND MAYBE IT IS TIME TO THINK AGAIN ABOUT CHANGING OUR ALLEGIANCES, & CHALLENGING OUR BISHOPS SO WE CAN START TO USE OUR DONATIONS TO BUILD UP THE KINGDOM OF GOD ONCE AGAIN?

(THERE ARE VARIOUS SUGGESTIONS WHERE THE FAITHFUL CATHOLIC CAN SAFELY DONATE TO VIA THE LINK IMMEDIATELY BELOW)

However we can also look at using some of our money to build up the Catholic youth in this country!

Did you know that when someone (normally a younger person) goes into a Catholic community for a year, or when someone goes on pilgrimage (e.g. WYD), it is common practice for that person to be paid for by the congregation of the Church. This is because it is not always possible for many in congregations to engage in these activities. In return the pilgrim goes on behalf of the rest of the congregation and is given specific prayer intentions and devotions to be said for the whole church every day during the pilgrimage.

WYD attendance normally costs around £900 for one person and is paid for by the pilgrim and their congregation. In America the scriptural concept of tithing (giving 10% of our income), or alternatively just giving more money for the building up of the Kingdom is well known and accepted as a scriptural duty. In Britain we are lagging behind considerably and have no real concept of giving money so that the Gospel can be proclaimed beyond that which is done within the four walls of our churches. In effect we are used to 'tipping' the church (I am as guilty of this as the next person).

In the next few years I believe that there will be a change of emphasis on making sure Catholic donations go to places which build up the kingdom and which are faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church rather being wasted on either un-necessary and psuedo-Catholic departments & agencies. Surely the recent Justice & Peace redundancies already point to this eventuality.
